2004 Expedition

The 2004 expedition should have left on the 20th of September, but owing to the riots broken out at Kathmandu on the 1st of the month, folling up the cruel murder, in Irak, of 12 nepalese workers, the Nepalese Government imposed a curfew on the valley of Kathmandu.

All the airlines, included the one that should have carried the expedition and a ton of medical - scientific devices, decided to stop all the flights from/to Kathmandu till September the 10th.

After that period the airline involved, found the safety margin not sufficent to support the expedition.

The short time at disposal to find another air-carrier, and the weather limits for the execution of the scientific searches on the Tilicho lake (frozen from the end of october to march), compelled us to postpone the 2004 edition to september of 2005.
